ProfitPulse — Privacy Policy

Introduction

ProfitPulse ("we", "our", "the App") is a Shopify application that helps merchants track product costs, fees, and profit margins. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

ProfitPulse is operated by Benjamin Cleon, micro-entrepreneur based in France. By installing ProfitPulse, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

Data We Collect

When you install ProfitPulse, we access the following data from your Shopify store through the Shopify API:

• Product data: Product names, variant names, SKUs, prices, and inventory cost fields. We use this to calculate profit margins.
• Order data: Order numbers, dates, total amounts, financial status (paid, refunded, etc.), and line item details (product, quantity, price). We use this to calculate profit per order.
• Shop data: Your store name and Shopify domain. We use this to identify your account within ProfitPulse.

Data We Do NOT Collect

ProfitPulse does not collect, store, or process:

• Customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, or mailing addresses
• Payment or credit card information
• Customer browsing behavior or analytics
• Any data from your customers' devices

We only access aggregated order financial data. We never access or store your customers' personal information.

How We Use Your Data

We use the collected data exclusively to:

• Calculate and display profit, cost of goods sold (COGS), and margin metrics in the ProfitPulse dashboard
• Generate weekly profit summary emails (if you opt in)
• Improve the accuracy and functionality of ProfitPulse

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third parties. We do not use your data for advertising or marketing purposes.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on a secure server located in Europe. We use HTTPS encryption for all data transmission between your Shopify store and our servers. Access to the database is restricted to the application developer.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as the App is installed on your store. When you uninstall ProfitPulse, all of your store data is permanently deleted from our servers within 48 hours, in compliance with Shopify's data protection requirements.

Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

• Right of access: You can request a copy of the data we hold about your store.
• Right to rectification: You can ask us to correct any inaccurate data.
• Right to erasure: You can request deletion of all your data. Uninstalling the App automatically triggers this.
• Right to data portability: You can request your data in a machine-readable format.
• Right to object: You can object to our processing of your data at any time.

Third-Party Services

ProfitPulse uses the following third-party services:

• Shopify API: To read product and order data from your store. Governed by Shopify's Privacy Policy.
• Resend: To send weekly email reports (if you opt in). Governed by Resend's Privacy Policy.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the App or via email. Continued use of ProfitPulse after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
